Industry Overview
Tablet compression machines, capsule fillers, blister packers and labelling lines are built to tight tolerances and cleaned frequently. Their fasteners need consistent dimensions so that parts align correctly. They must also resist corrosion from cleaning agents and present tidy, cleanable surfaces in production areas.
Accurate Fastners supplies stainless steel fasteners to DIN and ISO standards, including DIN 912 socket head cap screws, DIN 7991 countersunk Allen screws, DIN 84 cheese head screws, DIN 1587 dome nuts and DIN 125 washers. Grades (SS 202, SS 304, SS 316) and sizes are documented on each product page.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers work under GMP and validation requirements set by their own quality systems and regulators. We supply fasteners to the specification you provide. Equipment qualification and documentation requirements should be agreed at the enquiry stage.
Applications
Guards, covers and tooling-area panels on tablet presses use socket and countersunk screws. These give a flush, compact profile and allow repeated removal for cleaning and changeover.
Capsule fillers use small precision screws on dosing assemblies, frames and covers. Consistent thread quality supports accurate alignment during reassembly.
Blister, cartoning and labelling machines combine frames, change-parts and guards. Socket screws, dome nuts and wing nuts suit assemblies that are adjusted often.
In controlled areas, stainless fasteners with smooth heads and covered thread ends help keep surfaces tidy and cleanable. The final design depends on the cleanroom class.
Frames and supports for granulators, coaters and blenders are bolted with DIN 933 bolts, DIN 934 nuts and matching washers in consistent stainless grades.
Engineering teams keep stocks of matched stainless screws and washers so that parts can be replaced like-for-like during planned maintenance.
Selection
Specify the grade per area
SS 316 is commonly considered where cleaning chemicals or chlorides are present, and SS 304 for general areas. Confirm the grade against your cleaning and process conditions.
Use low-profile heads where useful
Countersunk and socket heads can reduce protrusions on guards and panels. Dome nuts cover thread ends. Choose the design within your equipment's hygienic design rules.
Control tightening
Stainless threads may gall under fast or high-torque tightening. Follow the machine maker's assembly practice and any approved lubricants.
Match mating parts
Use nuts and washers in the same grade and standard as the screw, so that the joint is consistent in corrosion resistance and dimensions.
Plan documentation
If you need material documentation or batch traceability for validation, state this clearly in your enquiry so availability can be confirmed before ordering.
Materials & Environment
SS 304 offers good general corrosion resistance for machine frames and guards in dry production areas. SS 316, containing molybdenum, is generally more resistant to chlorides and is often considered for washdown zones or where chloride-containing disinfectants are used. SS 202 is typically suited to mild, dry conditions.
Stainless fasteners should be isolated from dissimilar metals such as aluminium where moisture is present, to limit galvanic corrosion. These are general guidelines only. Material selection for pharmaceutical equipment should be confirmed by the equipment designer within the applicable quality system.
General guidance only. Confirm grade and design for your environment.
FAQs
Yes. Pharmaceutical machinery is listed in our company brochure. It covers tablet manufacturing machines, capsule filling equipment, packaging and labelling machines and cleanroom-compatible machinery.
We do not claim GMP certification for fasteners. GMP compliance applies to the manufacturing process and equipment as a whole. Please include any documentation needs in your enquiry.
DIN 912 socket head cap screws and DIN 7991 countersunk Allen screws are common for compact, low-profile joints. DIN 1587 dome nuts and DIN 125 washers are also used, depending on the machine design.
SS 316 is commonly considered for washdown or chloride exposure, and SS 304 for general areas. Grades available for each product are listed on its product page.
